Basketball Recap: Calallen Beats Zapata for Their Fourth Straight Win

Calallen had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 win over the Zapata Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-61 back in January.

Calallen was led to victory by Sam Cecava and Tanner Martinez. Cecava went 8-for-11 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Martinez went 6-for-11 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Cecava's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Dennis, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Calallen's victory bumped their record up to 24-11. As for Zapata, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Calallen nor Zapata have any future games scheduled.
