Cameron Whitehurst gets to the end zone with help from teammates on marathon run.

Currituck County senior needed a water break after this run.

It's undeniable that Cameron Whitehurst of Currituck County (Barco, N.C.) is the star in the play you can see above. You can't deny a guy who turns in a 72-yard touchdown by going sideline-to-sideline and then outsprinting a defender in the final yards.

Whitehurst ran for 24 seconds from hand-off.

So let's make sure we give Whitehurst his due credit. After all, he almost lost his jersey then got pinned against the sideline before somehow busting loose. The senior finished with seven carries for 140 yards and two touchdowns in a 47-0 shutout victory.

But let's also give some serious props to his teammates. Three different Knights players caught unsuspecting Camden County defenders not paying attention and laid bone-crushing blocks on them to help spring their teammate.
