Preview: Ripley Tigers vs. Milan Bulldogs
The Ripley Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Milan Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 18 consecutive losses for Ripley and six for Milan.
On Tuesday, Ripley was beaten by Westview 62-16. Ripley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.
Meanwhile, Milan had to suffer through a rough 66-21 loss at the hands of Peabody. While losing is never fun, Milan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Peabody is ranked 87th).
Ripley's loss was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-21. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.6 points per game. As for Milan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
Ripley came up short against Milan in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 48-36. Can Ripley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
