Basketball Game Preview: Towanda Black Knights vs. Wellsboro Hornets

Towanda hasn't had much luck against Wellsboro recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Towanda Black Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Wellsboro Hornets at 7:15 p.m.

Towanda is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since February 8, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 75-50 to Troy.

Meanwhile, Wellsboro didn't have too much trouble with Wyalusing Valley on Tuesday as they won 56-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Wellsboro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Towanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Towanda couldn't quite finish off Wellsboro in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 40-37. Can Towanda avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
