Baseball Recap: Cotulla Takes a Loss

If Cotulla was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Natalia last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cowboys came up short against the Crystal City Javelinas on Monday, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Javelinas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in March.

Davyn Deltoro made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Cotulla has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11-1 record this season. As for Crystal City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cotulla will challenge rival Dilley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crystal City is set to square off against their familiar foe Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
