Basketball Game Preview: North Davidson Black Knights vs. Watauga Pioneers

The North Davidson Black Knights will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Watauga Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

North Davidson is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Starmount on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North Davidson took a blow against Starmount, falling 48-18. The Black Knights were down 37-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Watauga had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over the Nighthawks. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season.

Watauga pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for North Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
