Basic faced Foothill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Lincoln Evans tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andruw Giles was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Dallon Cegavske was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Basic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill struck out 15 times.

Basic's record is now 18-8. As for Foothill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Basic nor Foothill have any future games scheduled.
