Preview: Blue Valley West Jaguars vs. Bishop Miege Stags
Blue Valley West is 0-10 against Bishop Miege since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blue Valley West Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Miege Stags at 5:30 p.m. Blue Valley West is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Blue Valley West ended up a good deal behind St. James Academy and lost 56-42. While losing is never fun, Blue Valley West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while St. James Academy is ranked 15th).
Meanwhile, Bishop Miege waltzed into their game on Thursday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They really took it to Blue Valley Southwest for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-35 win on the road. Bishop Miege has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 26 points or more this season.
Blue Valley West's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bishop Miege, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
Blue Valley West was taken down by Bishop Miege 58-30 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Blue Valley West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
