Baseball Recap: Crestview Takes a Loss

Crestview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Niceville Eagles, falling 14-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Crestview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Cantrell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Niceville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will welcome Pensacola Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pensacola Catholic will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Niceville, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Niceville 4.1, Lincoln 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
