Basketball Recap: Wes-Del Warriors vs. Cowan Blackhawks
Wes-Del was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 79-45 loss at the hands of the Cowan Blackhawks. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 54-15 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the defeat, Wes-Del saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caroline Caward posted 17 points and five rebounds. Bella Kehoe was another key player, putting up four points.
Elizabeth Sizemore went supernova for Cowan, going 9 of 13 from beyond the arc on her way to 30 points and three steals. Those 30 points gave Sizemore a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Hall, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.
Wes-Del's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Cowan, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-16 record.
Wes-Del didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-25 defeat against Southern Wells on the 30th. As for Cowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-49 loss against Muncie Burris on the 30th.
