Basketball Game Preview: Clint Lions vs. Fabens Wildcats

Clint and Fabens are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Clint Lions take on the Fabens Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Clint and nine for Fabens.

Clint is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Ysleta on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Clint was outmatched by Ysleta and fell 70-34. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1568th, while the Indians are ranked 461st).

Meanwhile, Fabens ended up a good deal behind San Elizario on Tuesday and lost 46-31.

Clint's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Fabens, their loss dropped their record down to 9-18.

Clint strolled past Fabens in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 54-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clint since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
