Basketball Recap: Simeon Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Simeon had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 6-1 to make it seven. They were the clear victors by a 65-41 margin over the Lindblom Eagles. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season.

As for Lindblom, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Simeon is ranked 46th).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Occomy, who posted 22 points along with five boards and four steals. The matchup was Occomy's 11th in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jalen Jackson, who had three points and five rebounds.

Simeon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-35 victory against Lake View on the 13th. As for Lindblom, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-61 win against Farragut on the 12th.
