Baseball Recap: Ash Fork/Seligman Sets Scoring Season-High Against Northland Prep Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ash Fork/Seligman). They put the hurt on Northland Prep Academy with a sharp 17-2 victory on Wednesday. Ash Fork/Seligman might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Branson Milius made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Mueller, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chandler Benavides, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Ash Fork/Seligman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Ash Fork/Seligman's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Northland Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Ash Fork/Seligman is taking a road trip to square off against El Capitan at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northland Prep Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Williams at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
