Recap: Mitchell Tigers vs. Kimball Longhorns

The Mitchell Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They fell just short of Kimball by a score of 44-41. Mitchell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kimball apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Despite the loss, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: Addy Bowlin scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Kaitlyn Keener was another key contributor, scoring a point along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Kimball was led to victory by Grace Anderson and Addy Olson. Anderson dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds, while Olson scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Olson has scored at least a third of Kimball's points.

Mitchell dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Kimball, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Mitchell will square off against Sidney at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sidney is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Kimball, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sutherland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
