Basketball Recap: Berean Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Skyline - Gila River

Berean Academy had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skyline - Gila River. The Eagles haven't had much luck with Skyline - Gila River recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Ayala, who posted ten points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Tanabe, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Skyline - Gila River now has a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Berean Academy and Skyline - Gila River will both be playing BASIS - Mesa the next time they take the court. Skyline - Gila River will head out to face BASIS - Mesa at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
