It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Classical Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Vista Panthers 12-10. The Caimans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Layla McKee and Gezylah Key did most of the damage at the plate: McKee went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles, while Key got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Key has posted since back in April of 2025. Sophie Subka was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Classical Academy will venture away from home to challenge Canyon Crest Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.58 runs per game on average), something the Caimans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vista, they will welcome Hilltop at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
