Football Recap: First Assembly Christian Takes a Loss

First Assembly Christian fell victim to Trinity Christian Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of the Lions. The Crusaders have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

A big part of Trinity Christian Academy's win came down to the chemistry between Owen Atwood and his top target Cameron Hardin. Atwood threw for 91 yards and three touchdowns while Hardin gained 82 total yards and two touchdowns. Reed Williamson got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

First Assembly Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, First Assembly Christian will challenge Harding Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will face off against Jackson Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
