Baseball Recap: Amber-Pocasset Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Amber-Pocasset ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Navajo Indians 5-4. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Kale Jones, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Avery McComas was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Amber-Pocasset pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Navajo, the loss snapped their winning streak at 17 games and leaves them with a 20-2 record.

Coincidentally, Amber-Pocasset and Navajo will both be playing Morrison the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
