Basketball Game Preview: Hug Hawks vs. North Valleys Panthers

The Hug Hawks will face off against the North Valleys Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Hug ended up a good deal behind Spring Creek and lost 53-34. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Spartans are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, North Valleys was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 63-58 to Wooster. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Hug has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for North Valleys, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Everything came up roses for Hug against North Valleys in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 84-48 victory. Will Hug repeat their success, or does North Valleys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
