Softball Game Preview: Jac-Cen-Del Eagles vs. Milan Indians

Jac-Cen-Del is 1-9 against Milan since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will challenge the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Jac-Cen-Del is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Jac-Cen-Del turned things around against Southwestern on Thursday. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 5-2.

Kaitlynn Shadday was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Shadday was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cheyenne Cullen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Josie Allen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Milan rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Shiners.

Jac-Cen-Del's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Milan, their win bumped their record up to 27-4.

Jac-Cen-Del suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Milan in their previous meeting last Friday. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
