Basketball Recap: Southern Takes a Loss

Southern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to the Bishop Brossart Mustangs on the road by a 68-51 margin. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Southern's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Bishop Brossart, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Southern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-22 defeat against Providence on the 3rd. As for Bishop Brossart, they will square off against Campbell County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Campbell County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
