Soccer Recap: Pius X Takes Down Ranked Duchesne

Pius X faced Duchesne in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Thunderbolts' defense stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Pius X, who have now won four games by three goals or more so far this season.

The win (which was Pius X's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five matchups. As for Duchesne, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pius X is set to challenge their familiar foe Scotus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Duchesne will take on rival Gross Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
