            Football Recap: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Northmor Golden Knights        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Centerburg, Mt. Gilead was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  22-20  win over the Northmor Golden Knights. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the   16-14 victory the Golden Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in October of 2024.
 Northmor's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Tanner Miley, who threw for 231 yards and three  TDs while completing 73% of his passes. A healthy portion of  Miley's aerial production (110 yards to be exact)  went to  Conner Stockdale, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.

Mt. Gilead pushed their record up to 6-1 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  at home dating back to last season. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.2 points on average over those games. As for Northmor, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Mt. Gilead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northmor, they will venture away from home to  square off against Cardington-Lincoln  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Golden Knights are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
