Softball Recap: Lebanon Comes Up Short

Beech Grove hit Lebanon with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Hornets, falling 12-6. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

MacKenzie Carey and Rachel Crabbs did some serious damage despite the final result: Carey went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Crabbs went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Morgan Stofer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Lebanon has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Beech Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 7-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lebanon will square off against Tipton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Beech Grove, they will venture away from home to square off against Covenant Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
