While Jasper didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-26-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Livingston Lions 2-1. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 7-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Gage Foster tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jasper's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Blayne Durham, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Jasper and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Livingston, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

Coming up, Jasper will take on West Fork in a tournament on Thursday. As for Livingston, they will be taking part in a tournament against Center at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
