Baseball Recap: Indian River Comes Up Short

Indian River's last matchup with South Jefferson could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Wolves lost 10-2 to the Spartans. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Wolves, who fell 7-5 when the teams last met back in May of 2025.

Indian River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Cappuccetti, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Cappuccetti is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Indian River's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for South Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian River will take on South Lewis at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Jefferson, they will square off against New Hartford at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
