Preview: Clifton Central Comets vs. St. Anne Cardinals
Clifton Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the St. Anne Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Clifton Central made easy work of Momence and carried off a 61-35 victory.
Clifton Central found their leader in underclassman Blake Chandler, who scored 16 points along with 7 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Chandler has scored at least 25% of Clifton Central's points. Another player making a difference was Logan Fritz, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
St. Anne can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 59-54 W over Donovan.
Clifton Central's win bumped their season record to 3-0 while Momence's loss dropped theirs to 0-5.
Clifton Central came up short against St. Anne in their previous meeting back in February, falling 60-52. Can Clifton Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
