Baseball Recap: North Decatur Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither North Decatur nor Waldron made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Chargers fell 13-9 to the Mohawks. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Mohawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Wyatt Reisman stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. North Decatur is 3-1 when Reisman posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Fields, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

North Decatur's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Waldron, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Coming up, Waldron will face off against South Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Decatur will be paying especially close attention to the Mohawks' matchup: after the Mohawks face off against the Cougars, they'll take on North Decatur again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
