Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Heights Hylanders vs. Fridley Tigers

The Columbia Heights Hylanders will face off against the Fridley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia Heights has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 14.

Last Tuesday, Columbia Heights took a blow against Richfield, falling 86-52. While losing is never fun, the Hylanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Spartans are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, Fridley ended up a good deal behind DeLaSalle on Tuesday and lost 78-61.

Columbia Heights' loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Fridley, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Columbia Heights was able to grind out a solid win over Fridley when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 93-86. Will Columbia Heights repeat their success, or does Fridley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
