Columbia came out on top against Salem on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Eagles took their matchup against the Wildcats 8-3. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

With the victory, Columbia broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-11. As for Salem, they dropped their record down to 11-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Columbia will host Belleville West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Salem, they will venture away from home to challenge Roxana at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
