Soccer Recap: Mauston Falls to Sparta in First Game of Season

Mauston unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Sparta Spartans on Thursday, falling 6-0. Mauston have struggled against Sparta recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

The victory got Sparta back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Mauston will head out to take on Assumption at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sparta, they will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on Richland Center at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
