Basketball Recap: Providence Prep Rams vs. Grace Academy

It was a good run, but the Providence Prep Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grace Academy. Providence Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Providence Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asa Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Clark Morrison, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.

Grace Academy found their leader in underclassman Samuel Moore, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Canyon Maxwell, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.

Providence Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Grace Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10.

Providence Prep will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
