Basketball Game Preview: Hampton Christian Academy Warriors vs. Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen

Having just played yesterday, the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Hampton Christian Academy beat Atlantic Shores Christian 41-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Denbigh Baptist Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Peninsula Catholic with a sharp 35-13 win on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Minutemen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Denbigh Baptist Christian found their leader in sophomore Julia Kinney, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kinney has scored at least a third of Denbigh Baptist Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Khalia Boyd, who posted three points and 18 rebounds.

Denbigh Baptist Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Hampton Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Hampton Christian Academy took their win against Denbigh Baptist Christian in their previous meeting on January 7th by a conclusive 53-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hampton Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
