York had won eight straight games and Lainey Portwine did her part to make it nine on Friday. The York Dukes enjoyed a cozy 61-42 win over the Crete Cardinals thanks in part to Portwine, who shot 6-for-11 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last six games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Kinslee Kern, who posted 15 points and six boards. What's more, she also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

York pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Crete, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York will take on Norris at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. York's defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Norris' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Crete, they will square off against Blair at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
