Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flatirons Academy). Everything went their way against the Wiley Panthers on Saturday as they made off with a 19-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bison, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Conner Odell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Odell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Parker Wilson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb Doughty, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Flatirons Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
