1A Region 6 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Falkville's Hunter Woodall recorded the longest rushing play in 1A Region 6 this season in his game against Sumiton Christian last week. Woodall scampered for 96 yards on the play and finished with 215 on the day as his team bested the Eagles.
Ragland extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Shades Mountain Christian, 62-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Falkville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ryan Sullivan threw for 87 and one touchdown and Lucas Johnson had 58 yards receiving. Aaron Estes helped Falkville's passing attack out by catching one ball for 29 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Estes and Woodall Joel Schrenk's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Estes leads the league in passing with 458 yards, while Woodall has rushed for 807 yards this season. Ragland's Jimmy Brock leads the league in receiving yards with 203 on six catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Addison takes on Meek. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in fourth, while the Tigers are in third.
