Soccer Game Preview: Prospect Ridge Academy vs. Timnath

The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners will face off against the Timnath Cubs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Prospect Ridge Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Prospect Ridge Academy is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Jefferson Academy on Thursday. The Miners came up short against the Jaguars, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Prospect Ridge Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Jefferson Academy are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Timnath kept a clean sheet against Mountain View on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mountain Lions with a sharp 5-0 victory. Considering Timnath have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Mountain View from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Timnath pushed their record up to 6-1-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1.

Prospect Ridge Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Timnath in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, winning 2-0. Will the Miners repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
