Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Academy's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Victory Christian Academy fought the good fight in their overtime game against Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Victory Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jadon Blumenthal, who went 10-for-23 en route to 29 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Kreitler, who posted eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Pollard, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds. Pollard has been hot, having posted 11 or more boards the last six times he's played. Gavin Ballard was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Victory Christian Academy fell to 2-1. As for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Victory Christian Academy is taking a road trip to take on Eagle Ridge Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
