Amsterdam dropped down to 4-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 69-8 loss at the hands of the Niskayuna Silver Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Silver Warriors are ranked 22nd).

Even if they lost, Amsterdam's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: George Fisher, Hector Smith IV, and Abdalon Bruno, who each picked up one sack apiece.

As for Niskayuna, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Considering they have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Meisner went supernova, rushing for 59 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 36 receiving yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 56 yards. Joey DiPiazza got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Amsterdam has already played their next game, a 34-28 defeat against Troy on the 24th. As for Niskayuna, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-6 victory against Columbia on the 24th.
