League recap: Saraland propelled to win by explosive offense

Saraland led 5A Region 3 in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Luverne.

Sumter Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Jaguars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Julius Maye has thrown for 238 yards and four touchdowns this season, while LeeOtis Washington has 12 catches for 213 yards. Maye also leads the league in rushing with 243 yards.

Sumter Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,797 from 10,970. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 51-0 victory over the Jaguars last week.
