Basketball Recap: Lacrosse Piles Up the Points Against Chase

LaCrosse entered their tilt with Chase on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Chase Kats, posting a 55-8 win. The matchup marked the Leopards' most dominant victory of the season.

LaCrosse was led to victory by Clara Thielenhaus and Molly Showalter. Thielenhaus went 10-for-14 on her way to 25 points and four steals, while Showalter went 5-for-11 en route to 11 points in addition to six assists and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Thielenhaus a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (71%). Madison Morgan was another key player, putting up six points along with six rebounds and six steals.

LaCrosse smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 29 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

LaCrosse's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Chase, they are on a 39-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, LaCrosse will challenge Central Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Central Plains: 29.3, LaCrosse: 28.6) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Chase, they will take on Pawnee Heights on Tuesday.
