Football Recap: Brandeis' Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Brandeis dropped to 7-3 on Thursday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Reagan Rattlers by a score of 20-17. The game marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wynter Smith threw for 62 yards and one TD while completing 81.8% of his passes. Layne Watkins was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards.

As for Reagan, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.8 points over those games.

It was another big night for Edwin Bridges, who rushed for 191 yards and one score while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.

Brandeis and Reagan are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Broncos will face off against Sotomayor at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Brandeis will be up against the WILDCATS' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Reagan, they will challenge Brennan at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. The Rattlers will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
