1. Borah (Boise)
2012-13 record: 25-1, Class 5A state champions
Head coach: Cary Cada

The Lions saw a 40-game win streak snapped at the hands of Rocky Mountain last season but went on to extact revenge upon their rivals in the state championship game. Isaiah Wright was the catalyst in that game and all season for Borah, earning Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year honors. The 6-foot-2 point guard signed with Utah earlier this month.

2. Bonneville (Idaho Falls)
2012-13 record: 18-5
Head coach: Brian Broaddus

The Bees return all five starters from a year ago, including University of San Francisco-bound wing Jared Stutzman. The 6-5 senior was a Class 4A second team All-State pick in 2012-13. Other starters back include senior Kohl Hostert (6-3, Sr., G/F), Telly Davenport (6-3, Jr., G), Scott Simmons (6-0, Sr., G) and Tanner Smith (5-11, Sr., G). Bonneville will become one of the first teams ever from Idaho to participate in a major national tournament later this month when they head to the State Farm Tournament of Champions in Illinois.

3. Rocky Mountain (Meridian)
2012-13 record: 21-5
Head coach: Dane Roy

Senior guard tandem EJ Boyce and John Sherle were Rocky Mountain's top two scorers last season and both return. The Grizzlies lost a significant amount of size from last year's roster but should remain a state title contender.

4. Lake City (Coeur d'Alene)
2012-13 record: 17-7
Head coach: Jim Winger

Returning All-State selection Kyle Guice, a 6-6 forward, and coach's kid J.J. Winger are back to help Timberwolves attempt to improve on 17-win output from a year ago.

5. Capital (Boise)
2012-13 record: 14-10
Head coach: Paul Rush

Last year's consolation champions in the 5A state tournament are hoping for more behind the play of All-State senior guard Hunter Young.
