Recap: Forge Christian Fury vs. Manual Thunderbolts
The Forge Christian Fury won the last time they faced the Manual Thunderbolts, and things went their way on Thursday too. Forge Christian walked away with a 48-36 win over Manual. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Forge Christian.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forge Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aleeza Olson, who scored 14 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Olson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Geypens, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
When it comes to explaining why Manual lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dayjah Fox. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Fox hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Jaci Collins-Falcon was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Forge Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Manual, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Forge Christian will be playing at home against Jefferson Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Jefferson Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Saturday. As for Manual, they will head out on the road to challenge DSST: Green Valley Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
