Football Game Preview: Fountain Valley Barons vs. Dana Hills Dolphins + How To Watch

The Fountain Valley Barons are taking a road trip to square off against the Dana Hills Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fountain Valley has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Dana Hills will arrive with seven straight victories.

Fountain Valley is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Laguna Beach on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Barons were beaten by the Breakers 63-18. While losing is never fun, the Barons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 468th, while the Breakers are ranked 99th).

Meanwhile, Dana Hills made easy work of Orange on Friday and carried off a 49-28 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.

Dana Hills' win came from a few key players Fountain Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carter Anderson, who threw for 159 yards and four touchdowns. James Leicester also helped with two TDs in total.

One reason for the win was Dana Hills' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Trevor Blackmore was the leader with two. William Reardon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Dana Hills' victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Fountain Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Fountain Valley lost to Dana Hills on the road by a decisive 42-24 margin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Barons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
