Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Labelle's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

LaBelle waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over the Lemon Bay Manta Rays. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-42 two weeks ago.

LaBelle's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerrahd Williams, who posted 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Arrie Davis Jr. was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Lemon Bay lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Adam Schwartz, who put up ten points. Those ten points gave Schwartz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elias Gambrell, who scored ten points and six boards.

LaBelle is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Lemon Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

LaBelle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-26 victory against Lake Placid on the 28th. Lemon Bay has also already played their next matchup, a 61-46 defeat against Venice on the 28th.
