Softball Game Preview: Wooster Generals vs. Hilliard Darby Panthers

The Wooster Generals will head out to face off against the Hilliard Darby Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Wooster came up short against Pickerington Central on Tuesday, falling 16-6.

Kennedy Russell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Dorris, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hilliard Darby had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over St. Francis DeSales on Tuesday. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2024.

Hilliard Darby also got a great performance from Gabby Jordan as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Lorelai Gum was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Deanna Tejada was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
