Volleyball Recap: Plainfield Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Plainfield took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Griswold, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolverines on Monday, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Plainfield took Griswold into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-16, 20-25, 21-25, 17-15.

Plainfield was led to victory by Shae Valentin and Paige Sears. Valentin had 49 digs, while Sears had 48 assists and 14 digs. Those 49 digs gave Valentin a new career-high.

Maryn Austin and Carly Rubino certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Austin had 11 digs and one assist, while Rubino had 31 digs and two assists.

Plainfield's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Griswold, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Plainfield will head out to take on Montville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Griswold, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Bacon Academy at 5:30 p.m.
