Soccer Game Preview: Cape Fear Academy vs. Greenfield

The Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes are taking a road trip to face off against the Greenfield Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Cape Fear Academy proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by five) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Coastal Christian get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Given Cape Fear Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Coastal Christian are ranked 130th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cape Fear Academy's one-goal win came courtesy of Milly Kelley, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Greenfield got the win against Wayne Christian on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-1. The result was nothing new for Greenfield, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Cape Fear Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. As for Greenfield, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Cape Fear Academy took their victory against Greenfield when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hurricanes since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
