Softball Recap: Weed Cougars vs. Anderson Cubs
Weed took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Anderson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Cubs 16-14. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the match before.
Angelina Brown was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Marissa Hosler was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
Brown wasn't the only one making solid contact: Weed kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They got six more hits than Anderson's also-impressive total of 12.
